Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions
Catalyst began with a belief that safe and convenient Erectile Dysfunction care should be available and inexpensive. Physical intimacy can be an important part of someone’s identity and sometimes medication can make a real difference.
Safety is extremely important to us. Your data from the Evaluation is securely stored under HIPAA regulations. Board-Certified Physicians review the Evaluation. Medications are then checked by Board-Certified Pharmacists.
Catalyst specializes in providing a telemedicine evaluation online to deliver effective erectile dysfunction medications directly to you. That way, you don’t need to see a doctor (and pay a copay and deductible or schedule a visit weeks ahead) or go to a pharmacy (and pay another copay).
You do not need a referral from a healthcare provider as Catalyst will evaluate your medical history with our own affiliated physicians to make sure that you are a good candidate. You do need to have a blood pressure reading measurement within the last six months. Otherwise, you only need Photo ID to verify your identity and form of payment (all major Credit and Debit cards are accepted).
Medications are delivered 1-3 business days depending on where you are in Pennsylvania. You can also upgrade shipping to Overnight Delivery and have the medications delivered by the next business day. This option is available on the order page when you pick the size of the dose pack to order. If you complete your Evaluation and Order before 2pm EST, we usually are able to ship your pack the same business day.
We are currently only offering Catalyst in Pennsylvania but may expand to other states in the future. Let us know if you’re in another state and interested in Catalyst so that we know where to expand next!

Medical Questions
As Catalyst dispenses FDA-approved ED treatments, we must make sure that the prescribed medication is safe for you. Prescription medications have a higher risk than over the counter medications and a medical provider’s evaluation helps decrease this risk.
All of the physicians involved in Catalyst are Board-Certified and U.S. licensed physicians with years of experience diagnosing and treating erectile dysfunction.
As long as you have had a physical examination by a physician within the last 3 years, you do not need any additional in-person visits with a medical professional.
Yes, telemedicine has been used for years to diagnose, evaluate and manage medical issues. Telemedicine may be limited compared to regular in-person visits as no physical exam can be done. Telemedicine also depends on patients answering the questions truthfully and completely.
Most Evaluations will be reviewed within 24 hours.
At this time, we are focusing only on Erectile Dysfunction treatments.
Video chats are not available at this time as most of the information required is done through the Evaluation. If any additional information is required, a Physician will contact you through your preferred means of contact. Please note that email may not be a fully-secure way to handle protected health information and that telephone calls are the most secure.
If you believe that you are having a medical emergency, please call 911 or proceed to your nearest Emergency Room. Catalyst does not provide emergency medical services.

Pharmacy/Medication Questions
Take sildenafil an hour before you want to have sexual activity. At this time, it will be easier to achieve and maintain an erection. To minimize side-effects, you can start at 25mg (1/4 of a tablet) and move up to 50mg (1/2 of a tablet) if it does not work well enough. Most people only require 50mg.
We use generic sildenafil to help with ED. This medication is also known as Viagra. It has been used for decades and is found to be safe in appropriate patients. In fact, the American Urological Association states that this class of medication should be the “first line of therapy for erectile dysfunction.” The most common side effects (flushing, headache, blurred vision) will improve with time.
All of the pharmacies used by Catalyst are Board-Certified with the Board of Pharmacy to ensure we have high-quality affiliates.
Getting you the most affordable treatment is a top priority for us. With 100mg tablets, you can control the dosage by taking 1/4 or 1/2 or a full tablet, depending on what you need. This makes it the most affordable option for you.
Most people do not experience any side effects with sildenafil. The most common side effects improve with time. They include: flushing, headache, vision problems, runny nose, nose bleeds, sleeping problems, muscle pain or upset stomach. There has been rare cases where erections last more than 4 hours. If this occurs, you must go to an emergency room to prevent damage to the penis as an erection this long can damage the tissue of the penis.
Payment Questions
You will be able to pay for the dose pack that you’d like in the Evaluation and Order page. If you are a good candidate for the medication, we will process your payment and proceed with sending the medication. If you are not a good candidate for the medication, we will not charge you at all.
The medical evaluation is included in the cost of the Dose Pack. There is no extra charge.
Regular shipping is included in the Dose Pack. There is no extra charge unless you want to upgrade to Overnight Delivery for $15.
Catalyst does not bill insurances. You most likely will be able to use any HSA or FSA funds that you have though. You would be solely responsible for any reimbursement of any payment to Catalyst. Reimbursement from a health insurance is not guaranteed and at the discretion of the health insurance.
If you would like a refund or have any issues with your order or medications, please contact us with the form below. This form is HIPAA compliant and you can leave personal health information there.
